Review - Night of the Living Dead: The Musical
Night of the Living Dead: The Musical. Now there’s something you don’t hear everyday. This show is the brainchild of Jack Schultz who is the writer of the script and lyrics with music by Kathleen Dooley. It is based on the George A. Romero’s classic zombie horror film 'Night of the Living Dead'.

Review - Anna In The Darkness
Before I get into this next review I want to tell you a little about myself. I have always been a fan of horror. Be it in the written form, movies, haunted houses, whatever, I have enjoyed horror from a very young age. I don’t equate ‘slasher’ movies or gore necessarily to horror. I believe that sound, angles, lighting setting has more to do with being horrific than some guy running around with a machete. I usually prefer my horror to be of a supernatural order or of a psychological nature.

Review - Animal Crackers
Hooray for Captain Spaulding, the African Explorer…………
You know I never thought about hearing those lyrics in a live play. It just goes to show you, you never know what to expect. And the same can be said for the live production of Animal Crackers.

Chicago Tardis 2009
This week I had the chance to go to Chicago Tardis. This is a local annual Dr. Who convention held in the western suburbs. The conventions if run by a local retailer Alien Entertainment. I’ve been to their store many times and have left much money there. Great little store with a great selection for its size.

Charities
So with the economy and the current state of the country many people have had a hit to their pockets. Even the company I work for has had to make some tough decisions in as far as reduction in employees and reduction in hours for our existing employees. Even with that people still find it in their hearts to reach out to others that are in need. Perhaps it is because they feel the economic pinch themselves that they still do for others.

Ah yes so we all have our own version of The American Dream. I know I sure did. Mine, I"m sure as it was for a lot of other people, was to have my own nice big house with a nice big yard on a tree lined street in a nice suburb.

Review - Arsenic and Old Lace (Originally posted November 9, 2009)
This time around it’s ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’. It’s a comedy about Mortimer Brewster who discovers his two elderly aunts are actually mass murders who have killed 12 lonely men and buried them in their basement. Mortimer needs to find a way to stop his aunts, deal with his crazy brother who believes he is Theodore Roosevelt while fending off his sadistic and also murderous brother Jonathan who has returned home. Meanwhile he is trying to keep his love interest Elaine from finding out his aunts are killers. Sound confusing? Yep it sure is. That’s the charm of this classic. This was originally a movie/screenplay that stared Cary Grant, Boris Karloff, and Peter Lorre that came out in 1944.
My T-Shirts (Originally posted November 7, 2009)
So I like T-shirts. More correctly I like printed T-shirts. If it's got a pop-culture reference or associated with something I like I just must have one. I used to have printed T-shirts when I was younger so I guess this is kind of a throw back to that. So I've put up a gallery on my Photobucket site with pictures of all of them. As I get more, which I'm sure I will, I will update with the new shirts.
Thanks to my brother for the use of his CPR training dummy which did the modeling for the photos.

Review - The House On Mango Street (Originally posted November 6, 2009)
This time around I’m reviewing a book titled, “The House on Mango Street.” This book is a collection of short vignettes written by Sandra Cisneros (her website) . My copy was the 25th anniversary edition that I got from Amazon.com, the drawn cover shows a girl looking out of the window of a 2 story red brick house. It was only 110 pgs in length with an additional 14 pgs of introduction by the author.
Autographs (Originally posted October 30, 2009)

These are just a few I have and I will upload more very shortly. I have lots more besides what I am showing you here but have not had a chance to photograph them and organize them.

Review - Schoolhouse Rock Live! (Originally posted October 16, 2009)
On the 3rd of October I had a chance to go see a show that was a lot of fun. That show was Schoolhouse Rock Live! It was a small cabaret held on the second floor of Hamburger Mary's Chicago. See my review here for that restaurant. The second floor is called Mary's Attic and is a small show space with seating for about 50 people or so. The seating is made up of a couple of arm chairs, a sofa, bar stools and basically dinning room chairs. It's very informal and while the chairs (with the exception of the arm chairs and sofa) are not particularly comfortable was kind of fun to sit around. Almost felt like you were sitting in someones rec room watching their kids put on a show. Only with a really good show and really talented kids. There is also a bar present where you can get drinks and you can even have food brought up from the restaurant downstairs.
The Kindle Ereader (Originally posted October 15, 2009)
Kind of a review. So I’ve been looking into purchasing an ebook reader for awhile now. If you haven’t seen one of these yet, they are pretty cool. For someone like me or other readers they are great and really look like the future.
Review - Hamburger Mary's Chicago (Originally posted October 9, 2009)
So I went out this past Saturday to a restaurant I have never been to before. It's called Hamburger Mary's Chicago and as you can imagine they specialize in hamburgers. Go figure.
AF Books (Originally posted October 7, 2009)
So I took a long ride this weekend out to a comic shop named AF Books (Amazing Fantasy). They are the sister store of the publisher Moonstone Books. It was quite a ride for me as all of their stores are pretty far out. They have 4 locations in; Calumet City, Frankfort, Lockport and Tinley Park. I chose to go to the one in Frankfort althought the one in Tinley Park probably would have been a better choice for me. All of their locations are pretty far from me so if I do go out there it probably won't be to often.

Review - Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Lovecraftian Horror (Originally posted October 3, 2009)
Ok so this is my first review. I’m going to use a 1-10 rating on reviews only because I feel that a rating system of 1-5 makes some ratings to close. So now that I got that out of the way the book I will be reviewing is titled “Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Lovecraftian Horror.”
